Certainly a great place to start in getting to know the "Island City" would have to be the Minocqua Chamber of Commerce. It is filled with interesting information and great ideas for things to see and do in the area. It is located on Highway 51 just as you are coming into town.

Mama's Supper Club - A Northwoods Institution
Since 1954, Mama's Supper Club has been serving wonderful Italian food in the northwoods of Wisconsin. Set on beautiful Curtis Lake right off Highway 70 West, crowds flock to Mama's at most any time of year. When in Minocqua, you simply have to give their cuisine a taste.

Minocqua Public Library
The Minocqua Public Library is a wonderful institution staffed by an extraordinarily dedicated staff. The library, aided by a forward-thinking board, is a progressive and innovative addition to the Minocqua community. In November of 2010, an expansion of the existing library was begun and was completed in May of 2011. Drop in and you're sure to be impressed with the lovely new space. Bring your laptop--there's wireless access! Check out their website. They have great programming for both kids and adults. What a wonderful way to spend an afternoon.

Gaslight Square Shoppes
The Gaslight Square Shoppes at 415 Oneida in Minocqua is a great place to spend time while in the Island City of Minocqua. Gaslight Square's quaint stores are individually created after a building style of the early 1900s. Its first level follows a street of bricks around the square. The second level holds an amazing antique store with every beautiful item imaginable from another place and time.

The Island Cafe
Located at 314 Oneida Street (the main street in town) is The Island Cafe. A wonderful place to stop and eat while you're out shopping. Breakfast, lunch, or dinner--they're all good. The menu is heavily influenced by Greek cuisine. The prices are really good and the portions are large. Our advice-come very hungry!
